Amongst targets achieved in 2010 were:

  • Nomination of an additional Designated Person under the Safety Rules

  • Six additional Internal Auditors were trained

  • The consistency of site safety/environment inspections was improved

  • Increase data evaluation quality from Fresh Eyes observations and produce recommendations from trends analysis

  • The new corporate Safety Rules were issued on site, and all relevant persons were suitably trained

In 2010 we maintained certification under OHSAS 18001. This standard relates to the safety management system, considering the elements of Health and Safety Executive guidance document HSG 65 and British Standard BS 8800.

A member of staff was trained in RoSPA QSA auditing techniques during the year to enable future auditing to this exacting standard
